Secret Stuffy Pocket

You’ll Need:

  • Stuffed Animal
  • Scissors
  • Fabric (approx. 10″x7″ depending on size of stuffy)
  • Zipper (or velcro)
  • Needle and Thread

How To:

  1. Cut along back seam of stuffed animal for the size you want the pocket.
  2. Pull out some, but not all of the stuffing inside.
  3. Measure the length of your cut, and make sure your fabric is about a half an inch to an inch longer than the cut.  (depth depends on how large the stuffed animal is)
  4. With the right sides facing each other, sew the sides of the fabric shut, leaving a 1/2″ at the top.
  5. Stick the “pocket” inside the opening of the animal and lay the zipper over the top.  Open up the zipper, place one side in between the pocket and the animal.  Hand sew down the entire side.
  6. Repeat these steps on the other side.
  7. zipper closed to make sure the zipper works. (If the zipper is too long you can cut the end, but make sure you sew over and across and through the end so the zipper head doesn’t come off.)
  8. Done!

DIY Bunny Ears

You’ll Need:

  • 2 different colored pieces of felt
  • 1 headband (or 4-6 pipe cleaners)
  • scissors
  • Hot glue gun

How To:

  1. Choose which color felt you will use for the main portion of the ear ( I chose white), and fold it in half.
  2. Cut two ear shapes with the folded end at bottom (See picture above)
  3. Next use second color (I chose pink) and cut two smaller ear shapes (unfolded).  These will be the inner ear.
  4. Wrap the white ears one at a time around the headband as shown in the second picture, and glue both sides shut.
  5. Next, glue the inner ear to the front.

For extra fun, have your kids glue flowers or bows to the headband base.  You can also use multiple pipe cleaners wrapped together if you don’t have a headband (just wrap the ends in ribbon so they aren’t sharp and pointy).
