The Foodie/Chef

If you do not have a garlic press, GET ONE!  I use mine all the time!  It is super easy to use and clean, and makes adding garlic to any dish a breeze.

This is another item that I use nearly every day.  The great thing about cast iron is that it is non-stick without all the toxic chemicals.  Plus, it is super easy to clean!

If you like to bake, this is a great tool.  I use it whenever I make mashed potatoes because it gets them nice and creamy and not chunky.  Plus, potatoes don’t go flying everywhere like they do with a hand mixer.  I also hear it is a great tool for shredding chicken.

We got rid of plastic containers years ago, and will never go back.  The thought of our food sitting in potential toxins for who knows how long just doesn’t sit right with me.  We love our Pyrex containers, but if you do get these, hand wash the lids or over time, they will start to crack in the dishwasher.

Along with the storage containers, I really love my Pyrex baking dishes.  I can bake my meal in them, and then if there are leftovers I don’t need to transfer to a new container.  I simply add the lid and throw it in the fridge.

If you’re looking for a splurge item, but totally worth every penny, this is my favorite kitchen item.  I use it for smoothies, soups, salad dressings, falafel, etc.  It even works great when you’re in a rush and need to chop something quickly.  Plus, it has a self-clean feature which is exactly what every mom loves to hear.

We’ve tried a regular coffee pot, then moved onto a French Press, and finally gave in and bought a Keurig.  I am not going back… Having 3 kids to get ready in the morning is so hectic that this is the most time efficient way of getting the job done.  I love this one because it has multiple sized cups you can make, and even makes the perfect iced coffee.
